Won’t Allow Bullies: Carney Declares Win

OTTAWA, April 29 — Liberal Party leader Mark Carney declared victory in Canada’s federal election, vowing to challenge U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war policies and annexation threats as he prepares to seek a mandate to form the next government.

While the Liberals are projected to win the most seats, early results suggest a minority outcome, raising questions about Carney’s ability to form a stable government without coalition support.

“Canadians have chosen progress, cooperation, and sovereignty,” Carney told supporters, pledging to stand firm against Washington’s economic aggression.

“We will not be bullied.”

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre conceded defeat, offering congratulations to Carney.

“Canadians have opted for a razor-thin minority government,” he said, hinting at potential instability ahead.

Jagmeet Singh, leader of the New Democratic Party, announced he would step down after losing his seat and overseeing a sharp drop in support for his party.

Carney, a former Bank of Canada governor, now faces negotiations with other parties to build a governing alliance—or operate under a fragile minority as he transitions toward assuming the role of prime minister.
