Yellow Alert Issued For 3 Days In Delhi Amid Dense Fog

New Delhi, 13 January 2025: The National capital will experience dense fog from today until Wednesday, as the Meteorological Department issues a yellow alert for the region. Icy winds from the mountains are expected to intensify the cold, bringing the minimum temperature down to 6-7°C.

On Sunday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 9°C, 1.6°C higher than usual. In some areas, temperatures were closer to 7°C. The maximum temperature on Sunday was 17.6°C, 2.5°C below normal.

Visibility at Safdarjung Airport was only 300 meters from 6:30 am to 7:30 am, causing difficulties for drivers. The sun was absent on Sunday, and the sky remained cloudy throughout the day.

Relief from the cold and fog was felt briefly in the afternoon, but conditions worsened as evening approached, with fog engulfing the area again.

Aya Nagar recorded the lowest temperature among various centers, with a minimum of 7.9°C.

The temperature at Ridge was 8.8°C, at Aya Nagar 8.4°C, and at Lodhi Road 9.2°C.

The Meteorological Department forecasts moderate fog and some areas will experience dense fog tomorrow morning, along with overcast skies.

Light fog is likely in the evening and night. Temperatures are expected to range between 7°C and 19°C, with humidity levels between 78% and 100%.

The fog and cold are expected to persist for the next three days.
