Chandigarh, April 19 — A yellow alert has been issued in Punjab for Saturday, with winds expected to reach speeds of up to 40 km/h across several districts. This follows Friday’s strong winds that affected most of the state, though no major damage occurred. However, farmers faced significant losses as crops in open markets were exposed to the elements.
Amid the orange alert issued on Friday, rainfall was recorded in various districts, including 4 mm in Moga, 2 mm in Ludhiana, and 2 mm in Ferozepur.
The yellow alert today also warns of rain and strong winds in districts near Himachal Pradesh, including Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar, Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, and Sangrur.
