Gorakhpur, June 22: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday reaffirmed his government’s zero-tolerance policy towards land encroachments and mafia activity, directing officials to initiate swift legal action against those involved in land grabbing. The chief minister was addressing a large crowd at the Janata Darshan held at Digvijay Nath Auditorium in the Gorakhnath Temple complex, where he personally heard grievances from over 200 citizens.

“No land grabber will be spared. The government stands firmly with the victims,” Yogi told officials, instructing them to resolve cases promptly and ensure that relief reaches those wronged.

During the interaction, several individuals requested financial assistance for medical treatment, prompting the CM to assure full support. In a particularly moving moment, he personally assured a wheelchair-bound man that lack of funds would not come in the way of his care. “Prepare the cost estimates and submit them at the earliest,” he told officers, underscoring his commitment to prioritising health concerns.

On Saturday night, Yogi Adityanath convened a meeting with over 125 doctors at the Gorakhnath Temple conference hall. Emphasising accessible healthcare for all, he said, “No patient should ever be turned away because of financial constraints, especially in critical cases.” He lauded the collaboration between local teams and Medanta Hospital’s tele-ICU unit, as well as retired AIIMS doctors offering consultation support.

The CM also announced that CT scan and MRI facilities would begin operating next month at the MGU campus hospital in Balapar, which he said is already outfitted with state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Later that evening, the chief minister conducted an extensive inspection of key development projects across Gorakhpur, covering areas including Jageshwar Pasi Chauraha, Harhawa Phatak, Om Nagar, Ali Nagar, and Pandey Hata. Stressing the need for speed, transparency, and minimal disruption to the public, he directed officials to expedite construction while ensuring fairness in compensation to those displaced by road widening and heritage corridor development.

While inspecting the construction of a railway overbridge at Hathwa Phatak, CM Yogi set a clear timeline: “Complete this project within 18 months. And make sure drainage is built on both sides to avoid future waterlogging.” He also asked for railway coordination to address flood-prone zones, especially around Hathwa Phatak, which has long struggled with inadequate drainage.

As Yogi Adityanath continues to balance development, governance, and citizen outreach, his visit reinforced the message that accountability, justice, and service delivery remain the backbone of his administration.
