Chandigarh, 23 February — Punjab State Election Commissioner Raj Kamal Chaudhuri announced that 191 candidates remain in the fray after the final withdrawal of nominations for municipal council elections in Tarn Taran (Tarn Taran district), Dera Baba Nanak (Gurdaspur district), and Talwara (Hoshiarpur district).
According to Chaudhuri, Tarn Taran has 113 contesting candidates, while Dera Baba Nanak and Talwara have 37 and 41, respectively.
Polling is scheduled for March 2 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with vote counting set to take place at the polling stations on the same day.
