CHANDIGARH, 28 February 2025 – The Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association will elect its new leadership, with 5,030 lawyers set casting their votes on Friday, according to reports.
Seven candidates are contesting for the post of Bar President, including former President Vikas Malik, Sartej Singh Narula, Anil Pal Singh Shergill, Ravinder Singh Randhawa, Chauhan Satwinder Singh Sisodia, Nirbhay Garg, and Kanu Sharma.
For the position of Vice President, Gurmail Singh Duhan, Nilesh Bhardwaj, Manmeet Singh, Gaurav Gurcharan Singh Rai, and Aman Rani Sharma are in the fray.
The General Secretary post will see a contest between Davinder Singh Khurana, Manvinder Singh Dalai, Gagandeep Jammu, and Parampreet Singh Bajwa.
Bhagyashree Setia and Kirandeep Kaur are vying for the Joint Secretary post, while Harvinder Singh Mann, Gaurav Grover, Jaspreet Singh Saran (Jassi), Varun Singh Dhanda, Ajay Kumar Dahiya, Satnam Singh, Nikhil Kaushik, and Saurabh Bhoria are contesting for Treasurer.
The High Court Bar Election Committee has implemented special measures to ensure smooth voting.
Parking near Gate No. 2 will remain closed, with entry allowed from the Rock Garden side. Electric vehicles and wheelchairs will be available at Gate No. 1 for voter convenience.
