New Delhi, 11 December 2024: The Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi announced on Wednesday the launch of Thailand’s Electronic Visa (E-Visa) system for Indian citizens, set to take effect on January 1, 2025. The new system, which includes an offline payment option for visa fees, aims to streamline the visa application process.
“The existing 60-day visa exemption for Indian passport holders remains unchanged,” the embassy stated in its announcement on social media platform X. Indian citizens can continue traveling to Thailand for up to 60 days without a visa under current rules.
Indian applicants for the E-Visa will need to submit their applications through the official website, www.thaievisa.go.th.
The embassy clarified that visa fees are non-refundable and processing times will take approximately 14 days after fee payment.
To transition to the new system, the embassy has set deadlines for regular visa applications under the current procedure.
Applications for ordinary passports via visa processing companies must be completed by December 16, 2024, while those for diplomatic and official passports will be accepted until December 24, 2024.
The embassy underlined that the 60-day visa exemption for Indian passport holders will remain in effect until further notice, ensuring continued flexibility for travelers during the transition.
