Chandigarh, March 14 — The UT administration will construct 144 additional houses for police personnel in Dhanas, with work set to begin in April. The ₹53.56-crore project is expected to be completed within 18 months.
The initiative is part of the Chandigarh Armed Police Complex’s ongoing infrastructure development, addressing the growing demand for staff housing. The first phase included the construction of 336 Type-II houses—192 in 2020 and 144 in 2021—followed by 216 houses (Part-I) and 216 houses (Part-II) in 2022, and another 240 in 2024, bringing the total to 1,008 units.
The upcoming project will feature six towers, each with stilt parking and six floors, accommodating four residential units per floor. Officials said the goal is to provide modern, secure, and comfortable housing for police personnel, improving their living conditions and operational efficiency.
