CHANDIGARH, April 6: — Member of Parliament Manish Tewari urged senior UT officials to ensure timely execution and proper sanctioning of works under the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).
Chairing a review meeting at the UT Guest House, Tewari examined the pace and implementation of ongoing projects funded through the scheme. “Quick, quality execution is critical to ensure development benefits reach people without delay,” he told officials.
He said MPLADS funds should be spent efficiently on projects that have a direct and visible impact on residents. “These funds must translate into high-impact work that addresses real needs,” Tewari said.
Municipal Commissioner Amit Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav, Additional Deputy Commissioner Amandeep Bhatti and other senior officials from various departments attended the meeting.
The MP also asked departments to monitor the progress of sanctioned works regularly and remove bottlenecks that slow down project delivery.
