CHANDIGARH, Aug. 16 — Air connectivity between Chandigarh and Bengaluru will see a boost next month with the launch of two daily flights, airline officials said Saturday. The services, operating from Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport, are scheduled to begin on September 1.
According to the airline, one of the new flights will be a late-night service. It will leave Bengaluru at 8 p.m. and land in Chandigarh at 10:55 p.m. The return leg is scheduled to take off from Chandigarh at 11:25 p.m., reaching Bengaluru at 2:25 a.m.
A second flight will operate during the daytime, departing Bengaluru at 1:15 p.m. and arriving in Chandigarh at 4:10 p.m. From Chandigarh, it will take off at 4:40 p.m. and reach Bengaluru at 7:40 p.m.
Officials said the decision was aimed at strengthening links between major northern and southern hubs. “The additional flights will provide business travelers, students and tourists more flexible options on this important route,” an airline spokesperson noted.
The operator has also announced an expansion of services on other routes. Starting September 1, two daily flights will run on the Ahmedabad–Bengaluru sector as well. From September 15, daily services will be introduced between Dehradun and Bengaluru.
With these additions, passengers will have more connectivity options for both day and late-night travel, airline officials added.
