Amritsar: A video of a man and woman, allegedly intoxicated, near a local bus stand went viral on social media on Friday.
Police intervened and admitted them to a de-addiction center, according to the reports.
The duo admitted to being drug addicts and using pharmaceutical drugs, expressing a desire for treatment.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (East) Gurinderbir Singh Sidhu stated that the Rambagh police had counseled the pair to seek help at the de-addiction center, where rehabilitation efforts would be implemented.
He noted that previous attempts to assist them in overcoming their drug use had been unsuccessful.
