Properties Worth ₹2 Crore Seized from Two Drug Peddlers

Ludhiana: Police seized properties worth ₹2 crore belonging to two accused drug peddlers on Saturday night in Ludhiana after sending a report to the relevant authorities in Delhi, which resulted in freezing orders issued under section 68-F (2) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The accused have been identified as Narinder Bisht, also known as Shubham, from New Moti Nagar, and Aniket, alias Ankit Batra, from Balmiki Nagar in Jodhewal.

A case was registered against Bisht under sections 22C, 61, and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Division Number 7 police station on September 24, 2022, following the recovery of contraband, Commissioner of Police Kuldeep Singh Chahal said.

Police seized his 100-square-yard house, valued at ₹59.90 lakh, he said.

In a separate case, police confiscated a house valued at ₹1.40 crore belonging to Aniket Batra, also under the NDPS Act, at Daresi police station on July 4.

The Special Task Force had arrested Batra and an accomplice for drug peddling, recovering 560 grams of heroin and ₹22,000 in drug money from them.

During the investigation, officials discovered that both accused had invested their drug proceeds in acquiring various properties, including residential ones.
