Chandigarh, 08 October 2024: In a shocking incident from Jalandhar, the bodies of two Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) of the Punjab Police were found under suspicious circumstances near Khurdpur railway station in Adampur.
The two ASIs, identified as Pritam Das and Jeevan Lal, were residents of Hoshiarpur and were posted in the Kapurthala Police.
They had reportedly gone out to apprehend a theft suspect, after which they went missing. Their bodies were recovered late Monday night near the railway station.
Station Master Naresh Raju reported that he was on duty when he noticed something lying near a construction site at Khurdpur station.
Upon closer inspection, he found the two bodies and immediately notified the Adampur police station.
Police teams from both Adampur and the Jalandhar Government Railway Police (GRP) arrived at the scene to investigate.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and a forensic team has been called in to assist with the investigation, he added.
