New Delhi/Chandigarh: Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is set to meet senior BJP leaders in Delhi on Wednesday, following the party’s third consecutive victory in Haryana’s assembly elections.

The BJP retained power after overcoming anti-incumbency, securing a historic win in the state on Tuesday.

Saini is expected to consult with the leadership regarding the formation of his cabinet, according to sources.

In his statement after the results, he thanked voters for endorsing the government’s policies under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP achieved its best-ever result in Haryana, winning 48 seats, 11 more than the Congress, while smaller parties like the JJP and AAP struggled, and the INLD secured only two seats.

Defying exit polls that had forecasted a Congress victory, the BJP’s win, hailed by Modi, was attributed to the appeal of good governance across communities.
