Shimla, Nov 24: Three people, including a young woman, were arrested in Shimla district’s Theog after police recovered heroin and cash during a late-night raid, officers said on Monday. The operation followed a tip-off that drugs were allegedly being sold and consumed inside a building in Ward No. 3, near the local Post Office.

According to investigators, a police team searched the premises and recovered 4.2 grams of heroin and ₹10,000 in cash from three individuals present at the spot. They were identified as Vishal, also known as Vicky, 24, of Shilu village in Theog; Ayush Sharma, 29, of Ward No. 3, Theog; and Tanvi Thakur, 23, a resident of Vani village in Chopal tehsil. All three were taken into custody immediately after the recovery.

“We acted on credible information and found heroin during the search,” a police official said, adding that the money seized is believed to be linked to drug activity.

Police said a case has been registered under Sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Officials noted that further investigation is underway and additional arrests have not been ruled out.
