Chandigarh, Dec 22: The Haryana government on Monday notified the creation of Hansi as the state’s 23rd district, carving it out of Hisar district with immediate effect.
According to the notification, the new district will comprise the sub-divisions of Hansi and Narnaund.
“In exercise of the powers conferred under the Haryana Land Revenue Act, 1887, read with the Registration Act, 1908, the Governor of Haryana hereby varies the limits and alters the number of sub-divisions of district Hisar so as to form a new district to be called Hansi,” the notification said.
With the reorganisation, administrative and revenue functions for the two sub-divisions will now be handled by the newly constituted district administration.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said the state has fully digitised the land registration process across all tehsils, a move aimed at improving transparency and curbing corruption.
“Buyers can now apply for land registration online from their homes, and tehsildars are required to complete registrations within a fixed timeframe,” Saini said in a statement.
He said if registrations are delayed, the concerned tehsildar must submit a written explanation to the government. “If the explanation is found unsatisfactory, disciplinary action will be initiated and responsibility transferred to a senior officer,” he said.
Officials said the creation of Hansi district is expected to improve administrative efficiency and public service delivery in the region.
