Among the most notable changes is the appointment of senior IAS officer Ajit Balaji Joshi as Secretary, Elections for the Local Bodies Wing. This move is seen as a strategic step in preparation for upcoming municipal elections.

The reorganization also impacts the leadership in four districts.

The Deputy Commissioners of Patiala, Ropar, Nawanshahr, and Barnala are among those assigned to new roles.
