Kurukshetra, FEB 5: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has issued a stern warning to government employees against harassing citizens after a teacher at Kanipla was suspended for alleged misconduct with a minor. The Chief Minister acted after the student’s family informed him that the teacher, who was already facing charges under the POCSO and SC/ST Acts, had not yet been removed from his post.
The Chief Minister expressed his dissatisfaction with the pace at which public complaints are being handled, particularly regarding pensions and power supply. He noted that the government is committed to a streamlined process where citizens do not have to struggle for basic services.
“Action will be taken against those officials who force the complainants to make repeated rounds,” Saini said during the interaction with residents.
In addition to personnel matters, the CM sanctioned development funds including Rs 21 lakh for Khairi village and Rs 70 lakh for water infrastructure. He also addressed the regularization of eligible colonies, stating that these areas would soon receive full basic amenities. On the issue of departmental accountability, he directed the Deputy Commissioner to investigate corruption claims in solar projects and diet money distribution.
Regarding the specific complaint against the Forest Department, the Chief Minister ordered an immediate inquiry into reports of employees being threatened over fake billing.
Saini said that while many pension issues are currently being resolved at the departmental level, the administration remains vigilant. He mentioned that the focus remains on ensuring that financial aid and developmental projects reach the intended beneficiaries without delay.
