JALANDHAR, Feb 27 — Local authorities have launched an investigation into an armed robbery at the Nakodar bus stand where two youths reportedly snatched a motorcycle at gunpoint on Thursday evening. The incident, which occurred in a crowded area, involved the theft of a Splendour bike from two residents identified as Prince, 25, and Sushant, 19.

The Nakodar SHO stated that the suspects had arrived as passengers and disembarked at the station shortly before the encounter. According to police reports, the individuals faced resistance while attempting to take the vehicle, leading them to discharge shots into the air. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the commotion, although the sound of gunfire caused brief panic among the estimated 100 bystanders present.

“The men who fired the shots had got down at the bus stand a while ago, before they carried out the crime,” the Nakodar SHO affirmed. He noted that the department is currently exploring CCTV footage from the premises to establish the identity of the suspects.

A case has been registered under Section 379 and other relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Nakodar City police station. Law enforcement officials maintained that efforts are underway to track the fleeing suspects and recover the stolen property.
