Chandigarh, March, 5: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab Media Head and Nasha Mukti Morcha Chief Spokesperson Baltej Pannu visited Mohan Dai Hospital on Wednesday to extend solidarity to an anti-drug crusader injured in a recent attack. The activist was reportedly targeted by individuals involved in drug peddling while working to expose the illicit trade.
Accompanied by MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu and members of the Nasha Mukti Morcha, Mr. Pannu met with the whistleblower’s family to provide assurances of government assistance. He stated that the administration remains committed to protecting those who courageously confront the drug menace in their communities.
“The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is waging a relentless and multi-dimensional war against drug peddlers and smugglers,” Mr. Pannu declared.
The media head noted that the state’s “Yudh Nashean Virudh” campaign has entered an intensive phase aimed at the complete eradication of narcotics. He maintained that the government would continue to provide every possible support to the victim during the recovery process and would personally monitor the situation.
“I will personally remain in constant touch and ensure every possible assistance during the recovery process,” Mr. Pannu affirmed.
He further asserted that the state has intensified its crackdown through property attachments and convictions under the NDPS Act. He added that the participation of 1.5 lakh volunteers in the Nasha Mukti Morcha is a testament to the community’s resolve to support the government’s efforts in cleaning up the state.
