Chandigarh, March 16: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Monday declared that his administration has successfully met all electoral guarantees within four years, asserting that the “politics of work” has replaced traditional divisive agendas. Addressing the media on the government’s fourth anniversary, the Chief Minister maintained that the trust reposed in the Aam Aadmi Party by the public has remained intact since the 2022 mandate.
The Chief Minister noted that the government has implemented historic reforms across power, agriculture, and employment sectors. He stated that 90 percent of households now receive zero electricity bills, while farmers are provided with eight hours of uninterrupted daytime power for irrigation. Additionally, he affirmed that 65,000 government jobs have been awarded solely on merit, alongside the creation of 5.5 lakh private employment opportunities.
“The Punjab Government has started a new tradition by completing all promises in four years whereas others struggle even in five,” the Chief Minister asserted. He declared that the state has moved past a legacy of debt and poor governance, attracting ₹1.55 lakh crore in investments and generating significant revenue through improved excise and GST collections.
The Chief Minister also addressed the state’s progress in healthcare and safety. He stated that the opening of 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics and the introduction of free treatment up to ₹10 lakh under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna have revolutionized public health. Furthermore, he affirmed that the Sadak Surakhya Force has reduced road accident fatalities by over 50 percent, saving thousands of lives.
On the issue of law and order, the Chief Minister maintained that decisive action under ‘Operation PRAHAR’ has broken the backbone of organized crime and drug trafficking. He declared that the state’s crime rate now stands significantly below the national average. Responding to opposition criticism, the Chief Minister asserted that while other parties are concerned with political survival, his administration remains focused on the holistic development of Punjab.
