Gurugram, March 16: A 35-year-old man and his two-year-old daughter died on Monday morning after falling from the 23rd floor of a residential tower in Sector 102, Gurugram. The deceased, identified as Rahul Vijayran, a native of Delhi’s Nangloi, reportedly jumped from Tower 5 of the Joyville Society while holding his daughter, Vamika. Both were declared brought dead upon arrival at a local hospital.
Police officials stated that the incident occurred around 7:30 am while the man’s wife, Neetu Dahiya, was preparing meals at their home in Tower 9. Family members maintained that Rahul had taken the child out under the pretext of playing in a nearby park. Investigators declared the circumstances suspicious as the deceased resided in a different tower from the one where the incident took place.
The family affirmed that Rahul had been struggling with significant health issues following a bout of Covid-19, which resulted in the loss of vision in one eye. Amit, the brother of the deceased, asserted that this medical distress likely led to the extreme step. Authorities stated that no suicide note was recovered from the scene, and an investigation is ongoing to determine why the child was taken along.
