Chandigarh, March 23: Haryana Police have intensified a digital crackdown on the song “Tateeree” by artist Badshah, resulting in the removal of 857 social media links as of Monday. The enforcement action, led by the Panchkula Police, targeted 154 YouTube videos and 703 Instagram Reels identified as containing objectionable content.

The move follows an investigation initiated at the Cyber Police Station in Sector 20, Panchkula. High-ranking officials declared that the song employs derogatory language toward women and minors, violating established legal standards for digital dignity. Under the direction of the state government, police teams are now maintaining continuous surveillance to identify any individuals or accounts still disseminating the track.

Additional Director General of Police Sibas Kabiraj asserted that members of the public found creating or sharing short-form videos featuring the banned song will face strict legal consequences. He maintained that repeat offenders risk having their social media accounts permanently restricted or blocked. The department has already coordinated with major tech platforms to ensure that re-uploads and derivative formats are intercepted and deleted.

“Content that violates the dignity of women and minors will not be tolerated,” Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal stated. He affirmed that the police force is committed to fostering a safe digital environment and that digital surveillance has been strengthened to ensure full compliance with the law. The DGP further noted that the current administration remains firm in its stance against the circulation of material deemed harmful to public interest.
