Chandigarh, March 28: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini affirmed on Saturday that the state possesses ample reserves of petrol, diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas, addressing recent public anxiety regarding fuel availability. The declaration followed reports of lengthy queues at refueling stations across the region, prompting a clarification on current inventory and distribution metrics.

The Chief Minister maintained that the state’s energy infrastructure remains robust, with 4,032 government-operated fuel stations currently in active service. Saini asserted that daily consumption patterns show an average sale of 4,804 kiloliters of petrol and 12,003 kiloliters of diesel, which are being met by consistent supply chains.

“The state receives 200,000 gas cylinders daily, while approximately 190,000 cylinders are being distributed each day,” Saini stated during a press conference. He further declared that the administration is prioritizing essential institutions such as schools and hospitals to prevent any disruption in their operations.

In a move to streamline energy infrastructure, the Chief Minister announced a significant reduction in lease rates for Piped Natural Gas pipelines. The previous requirement of a Rs 3 lakh per kilometer advance payment for a 10-year period has been replaced by a one-time fee of Rs 1,000 per kilometer.

Addressing illegal trade practices, Saini noted that authorities have already initiated legal proceedings to curb market distortions. “Eight FIRs have been registered and over 900 cylinders seized so far,” he asserted, adding that the government will continue to take strict action against those engaging in hoarding or black marketing.
