Washington, March 30: President Donald Trump issued a stern ultimatum to Tehran on Sunday, stating that the United States is prepared to dismantle Iran’s civilian and energy infrastructure if a peace agreement is not finalized shortly. The President affirmed that while “serious discussions” are currently underway to conclude military operations, the lack of a timely deal would result in severe kinetic action.

In a social media statement, Trump asserted that the U.S. would target electric generating plants, oil wells, and Kharg Island if the Strait of Hormuz is not immediately opened for international business. He also noted that desalination plants could be included in the potential list of targets.

“Great progress has been made but, if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached, we will conclude our stay in Iran by blowing up and obliterating their assets,” the President declared.

The escalation comes as Iran defies a diplomatic expulsion order from Lebanon. Despite Beirut declaring Ambassador Mohammad Reza Shibani “persona non grata” with a Sunday deadline to depart, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei maintained that the mission in Beirut remains active. Baghaei stated that the ambassador is still at the embassy and will continue his duties, a move that further heightens regional friction.

The diplomatic standoff coincides with intensifying ground operations. Israel reported the death of a soldier in southern Lebanon on Sunday as its troops seek to establish a security zone. Lebanese officials declared that the ongoing conflict has resulted in over 1,200 deaths and the displacement of more than 1 million people.
