CHANDIGARH, May 11 — The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) announced the results for the Class 10 matriculation examinations on Monday, naming Harleen Sharma as the state topper. Sharma achieved a score of 646 out of 650 marks, reaching a proficiency level of 99.38%.
The state recorded an overall pass percentage of 94.52%, with girls continuing a trend of higher academic achievement compared to boys. The pass rate for female candidates reached 66.35%, while male students recorded a rate of 54.19%. Board officials stated that Manimahesh Sharma and Satnam Singh followed closely in the rankings, both securing 645 marks to claim the second and third positions.
“The results reflect the dedication of our students and the support of the teaching faculty,” a PSEB representative affirmed. He noted that aided schools performed exceptionally well this year, leading other institutional categories with a 62.54% success rate.
District-level data revealed that Amritsar achieved the highest performance in the state with a 98.41% pass rate. Ferozepur and Pathankot followed as high-performing regions, whereas Ludhiana recorded the state’s lowest pass rate at 89.20%.
Board representatives declared that the smooth conduct of the examinations across government and non-government schools contributed to the timely release of results. They affirmed that the focus remains on maintaining high academic standards throughout the state’s 23 districts.
