Chandigarh, October 22, 2024 — Former MLA Dalvir Goldi Kamboj has officially announced his departure from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Goldi previously left the Congress party to join AAP at the invitation of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

In a statement, Goldi clarified that he had not requested a ticket from AAP for the upcoming Barnala Vidhan Sabha by-election and said that no such promise was made to him when he joined the party. “I have been sitting at home for the past six months and am no longer affiliated with any party,” he said.

Looking ahead, Goldi expressed his intention to contest the elections from the Dhuri Vidhan Sabha constituency in 2027.

He also acknowledged the personal loss he experienced after leaving Congress, stating that if given the opportunity, he would consider running for office from Dhuri in the next assembly elections.
