NEW DELHI, May 15 — The National Testing Agency has scheduled the re-examination for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) 2026 for Sunday, June 21. This decision follows the cancellation of the initial May 3 test after investigative agencies flagged concerns regarding the integrity of the examination process and allegations of a paper leak.
The government-approved re-test aims to restore the credibility of India’s largest medical entrance exam. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan confirmed that students will be granted a one-week window to select their preferred examination cities, with fresh admit cards set for release by June 14. Candidates are not required to submit new application forms or pay additional fees, as existing registrations will be carried forward.
“The National Testing Agency, with the approval of the Government of India, has scheduled the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026 on Sunday, 21 June 2026,” the NTA stated in an official announcement. Officials maintained that the agency is working in coordination with central investigative teams to ensure a foolproof and transparent examination environment.
The initial cancellation impacted over 22 lakh medical aspirants nationwide. The NTA has urged both students and parents to rely exclusively on official communication channels for updates and has shared helpline numbers for those seeking clarification on the re-test process.
