CHANDIGARH, JUNE 4 — Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema ordered administrative department heads on Wednesday to quickly resolve the legitimate demands of state employees following a series of high-level meetings.

Cheema, who leads the special Cabinet Sub-Committee tasked with addressing worker grievances, held extensive talks with multiple employee delegations to review sector-specific concerns. He noted that administrative heads must thoroughly examine the matters raised by the workforce to guarantee a prompt resolution.

“The Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann remains firmly committed to the welfare of employees,” Cheema asserted during the deliberations.

The discussions involved representatives from several prominent organizations, including the Punjab State Ministerial Services Union, the Computer Adhiypak Union, and the Lal Jhanda Mid-Day Meal Workers Union. Leaders from the Bazigar Vanjara Samaj Sangharsh Committee and the Water Supply and Sanitation Workers Union also participated in the session.

During the meetings, the Punjab State Ministerial Services Union submitted a comprehensive memorandum detailing collective issues and specific administrative difficulties. These concerns impact ministerial personnel working across various sectors, including district administrative offices, the education department, the finance department, and the water supply and sanitation department.

Cheema declared that the administration wants to maintain a supportive environment for employees across all state cadres.

“The Cabinet Sub-Committee is actively working to bridge gaps and create a supportive environment for employees across all state cadres,” Cheema stated.

The review also covered staff issues within ITIs, the cooperative department, the excise department, the soil and water conservation department, and the Commissioner’s office to ensure comprehensive oversight.
