Agra, July 1: A horrific road crash claimed the lives of five members of a family, including two young girls, when an interstate sleeper bus crashed violently into a passenger car on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway early Wednesday morning. The impact sent the large transport vehicle careening out of control before it broke through the expressway protection railings and plunged onto the service road below.

The catastrophic event unfolded around 4.30 am near Devkhari village under the Bangarmau police precinct. Emergency response units confirmed that all five deceased victims were inside the smaller vehicle and died on the spot from the initial crush. Local police representatives declared that the family was traveling toward a religious destination when the collision occurred, completely destroying their vehicle.

Local police officials and administrative units launched an immediate rescue operation at kilometer marker 230 after being alerted by passing motorists. Bangarmau Circle Officer Harsh Modi stated that a preliminary investigation suggested that the bus driver may have dozed off, leading to the accident. Modi affirmed that the exact cause of the mishap is being investigated from multiple technical perspectives.

Eight other travelers survived the impact with significant trauma and were transported to nearby clinical units. Administrative updates established that four remaining occupants from the car and four passengers from the long-distance sleeper bus are currently undergoing urgent medical treatment. District Magistrate Ghanshyam Meena and Superintendent of Police Jai Prakash Singh arrived at the location to coordinate medical transfers and ordered immediate logistical support for the families of the victims.
