Chandigarh, July 2: The Shiromani Akali Dal suffered a substantial organizational collapse in Patran following the defection of former Member of Legislative Assembly Vaninder Kaur Loomba and Karan Singh DTO to the Aam Aadmi Party. The political transition was formalized on Wednesday during an induction assembly led by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, where hundreds of grassroots opposition workers also pledged their allegiance to the ruling party.
The mass migration of cadres changes the political dynamics within the Patran belt, shifting established rural networks into the government fold. Senior organizers note that losing an experienced former legislator significantly disrupts the opposition’s structural footprint in the region.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann asserted that the continuous influx of seasoned political figures signals an evolving public mandate for state policies. He declared that the arrival of established field workers would substantially fortify the party’s regional administrative operations.
The incoming leadership group declared that their decision to align with the government stems from the transparent execution of public welfare initiatives over the past few years. They affirmed that the administration’s performance has successfully generated widespread public confidence across rural constituencies.
Chief Minister Mann maintained that the widening support base reflects a clear societal endorsement of the state’s ongoing development agenda. “Such a large number of supporters from the opposition party joining AAP reflects the growing public endorsement of the AAP government’s pro-people works and policies, which will further expand and strengthen the party’s base in the coming times,” the Chief Minister stated.
