Chandigarh, July 6: Days after its long-awaited premiere, the Diljit Dosanjh starrer ‘Satluj’ has been pulled from the ZEE5 streaming service for viewers in India. The feature film, which began streaming on July 3 following an extensive production and review journey, was suddenly taken down due to recent procedural developments.
The streaming platform announced the sudden unavailability through an official social media statement, assuring audiences that they are actively working toward a resolution. The platform maintained, “In light of the current developments, Satluj will be unavailable in India until further notice. We remain committed to exploring every appropriate avenue through due process to bring the film back to our audiences at the earliest opportunity.”
Despite the restriction, the entertainment service declared its complete backing for the biographical drama and its artistic team. It asserted, “At ZEE5, we stand firmly by Satluj and the creative vision behind it. We believe powerful storytelling has the ability to inspire, endure and leave a lasting impact. We remain committed to championing authentic and meaningful narratives.”
The corporate statement also extended sincere appreciation to the public for the immense engagement generated during the brief release window. It stated, “Your love and support have meant a great deal to us and to everyone who brought this story to life.”
Originally titled ‘Punjab 95’, the project has navigated a detailed evaluation timeline since 2022, moving through standard certification procedures with the Central Board of Film Certification. The multi-starrer project, which features Arjun Rampal, Kanwaljit Singh, Suvinder Vicky, and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan alongside Dosanjh, previously adjusted its international festival schedule in 2023 during ongoing regulatory reviews before finally securing its digital launch under the new title.
