Chandigarh, July 20: Security agencies apprehended two wanted fugitives in Angola. The joint initiative involved the Punjab Police, the Haryana Special Task Force, and central intelligence agencies working alongside foreign counterparts.
The individuals taken into custody were identified as Varinder, also known as Joban Saidoke, and Manjot. Varinder was sought by state law enforcement in connection with four major murder cases, carrying a designated reward of five lakh rupees for information leading to his capture. Manjot faced multiple criminal proceedings registered across Haryana.
Authorities indicated that intelligence coordination enabled teams to track the individuals abroad following earlier issuance of Red Corner Notices.
“This operation demonstrates the growing reach of Indian law enforcement agencies working in coordination with international partners,” a senior police official stated regarding the development. “Extradition processes have been formally initiated to bring both individuals back to face legal proceedings.”
The arrests reflect broader efforts by state and central agencies to disrupt organized crime networks operating across regional boundaries.
