New Delhi, JULY 27: Transport associations across Delhi announced plans to march toward Parliament on August 4 to seek the withdrawal of compulsory E20 fuel distribution and request choices for consumers.
Organized by the Delhi Taxi and Tourist Transporters and Tour Operators Association alongside supporting bodies, the demonstration aims to address reported vehicle performance issues linked to 20 percent ethanol blends.
“We are planning to hold a protest march to Parliament on August 4 against ethanol blended petrol demanding its withdrawal to give a wake-up call to members of Parliament,” stated Sanjay Samrat, president of the Delhi Taxi and Tourist Transporters and Tour Operators Association.
Industry representatives clarified that their action remains independent of political campaigns or digital social media trends, focusing strictly on operational impacts faced by commercial operators.
“Ethanol blended petrol should not be forced upon commuters, and there should be a choice available at pumps,” maintained Harish Sabharwal, national president of the All India Motor Transport Congress, while confirming support for the march without an immediate strike call.
All India Motor & Goods Transport Association leadership similarly declared that vehicle damage risks make consumer choice essential.
The Central government maintains that the E20 policy reduces carbon emissions and supports agricultural producers, affirming that blended fuel meets safety guidelines.
