Amritsar, August 6: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has warned television channels and social media entities against unauthorized restreaming of live Gurbani broadcasts from Sri Harmandir Sahib.
SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami asserted that the apex Sikh body maintains exclusive rights over the sacred feed originating from the Golden Temple complex.
“The SGPC reserves the absolute right to telecast Gurbani, and relaying our digital feeds without formal authorization remains illegal,” stated Harjinder Singh Dhami, urging all media platforms to desist from unapproved broadcasts immediately.
The warning follows reports of nearly 1,000 digital platforms, including satellite operators, picking up the live link through official social media feeds. While broadcasting platforms claimed the shared feed served global devotees, religious administrators reiterated that statutory permission remains mandatory to protect institutional norms and sacred protocol.
