New Delhi, August 7 — Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated on Thursday that Meta has restricted his official Instagram account in India without offering a formal justification. The former Delhi Chief Minister asserted that the action stems from pressure applied by the Modi government to silence critical voices.
Addressing the issue in a video shared on social media platform X, Kejriwal maintained that tech platforms are actively suppressing creators who raise concerns over examination paper leaks and the mandatory introduction of E20-blended fuel. He noted that multiple users reported similar account limitations after voicing dissent against central policies.
Inquiries made directly with Meta’s local representatives yielded no concrete answers or recovery steps regarding the restrictions.
“I tried calling them to find out why this was done, but no one gave me any explanation,” Kejriwal stated, adding that official emails to the social media giant only received automated acknowledgements.
The AAP chief appealed to citizens facing similar digital restrictions to contact him directly to coordinate a joint response against the platform’s measures. Kejriwal declared that collective public action is necessary to compel social media corporations to maintain impartial operations across the country.
