Siliguri, August 7 — A legal complaint has been lodged against Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke and spokesperson Sourav Das following the alleged participation of minors in a recent protest at Jantar Mantar.
The complaint was submitted at the Pradhannagar police station in Siliguri by lawyer Rinki Singh regarding a political demonstration held over the NEET exam controversy. Singh maintained that children around twelve years of age were brought to the demonstration site, exposing them to a volatile environment where public property damage occurred and strong political rhetoric was used.
In her filing, the complainant called for strict legal action under Sections 13, 14, and 15 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, as well as Section 153 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. She declared that exposing young children to potential law-and-order risks compromised their personal safety and mental well-being.
“Children were encouraged to participate in a political demonstration despite lacking the maturity to understand its purpose, thereby putting their safety and mental well-being at risk,” the complainant affirmed in the police submission.
In addition to the child protection concerns, the complaint requests a formal investigation into the financial channels supporting the CJP leadership, including scrutiny of foreign scholarships and organizational expenditures. Neither Dipke nor Das has issued an official statement regarding the matter, and police authorities are reviewing the details to determine further legal steps.
