New Delhi — Following widespread criticism over her recent comments labeling Gen Z protesters as “generation gutter”, Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kangana Ranaut on Friday reversed her stance, praising the youth as India’s key strength and cultural ambassadors.
Speaking to reporters outside Parliament, the Mandi parliamentarian praised young citizens and aligned her views with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat, who recently declared that youth concerns deserve attention and should not be dismissed. Ranaut maintained that the vast majority of young people serve as vital assets to the nation, dismissing earlier controversial social media posts as reactions to a handful of individuals.
The actor-turned-politician asserted that the country’s youth are increasingly taking pride in national heritage and participating in constructive public discourse.
“Gen Z is the strength of our country and, in a way, a great asset to our nation,” Ranaut declared outside the Parliament complex.
Shifting her focus to opposition leaders, the Mandi representative criticized Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for failing to meet students protesting over examination recruitment issues in Ranchi. Official representatives affirmed that the government remains committed to supporting student welfare across all states.
