Haryana Governor Relieves Private Secretary Shankha Chatterjee of Duty

Formal order issued with immediate effect following administrative decision at Raj Bhavan

Chandigarh, August 8: Haryana Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh has relieved his Private Secretary, Shankha Chatterjee, of his official responsibilities with immediate effect, according to an order issued from Raj Bhavan.

Chatterjee had joined the state administration following Governor Ghosh’s appointment in July 2025, formally assuming charge as Private Secretary on October 23, 2025.

Secretary to the Governor, IAS officer Vijay Kumar, stated that Chatterjee had submitted his resignation citing personal grounds, which led to the official decision to relieve him of his duties.

Official sources maintained that administrative functioning had been under observation by government agencies following feedback regarding procedural matters, leading to closer scrutiny of official roles.

The directive was formally signed on August 6, bringing an immediate conclusion to his tenure at the Governor’s office.
