Chandigarh, August 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party launched a strong political critique against the ruling dispensation in Punjab, claiming that administrative focus has shifted away from maintaining law and order across the state.
National general secretary Tarun Chugh asserted during a press conference that rising criminal activity and extortion demands have created widespread public concern. He maintained that local trade representatives, medical professionals, and legal practitioners are encountering persistent security challenges.
“The state administration has failed to protect civic interests, leaving local businesses vulnerable to extortion networks,” Chugh declared while addressing media personnel in New Delhi.
The political development coincides with high-level organizational meetings involving state unit leaders to evaluate regional strategy and review cadre grievances in the state.
Refuting the opposition’s statements, state government representatives maintained that law enforcement agencies continue to take firm action against illegal elements and crime syndicates to ensure security throughout the region.
