Hisar, August 11: A joint enforcement operation led by the CM Flying Squad and the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department targeted a Kisan Seva Kendra in Agroha town, Hisar district, following reports of illegal overcharging for subsidised urea. Investigating allegations of black marketing and mandatory product bundling, a decoy customer deployed by the raiding team purchased a bag of urea priced at the prescribed rate of 267 rupees for 280 rupees, with an unrequested secondary item forcibly tagged along. Subsequent inspections revealed that over 5,000 bags of urea were held in stock despite farmers being charged inflated rates of up to 300 rupees per bag. Officials verified sales records and submitted a formal complaint to the Agroha police station to initiate legal proceedings against the dealer.
Highlighting the state’s zero-tolerance stance on agricultural exploitation, CM Flying Squad Hisar Range In-charge Sunaina declared that government-subsidised fertilisers must reach farmers strictly at official rates. She affirmed that authorized dealers are legally prohibited from charging above the capped prices or forcing unwanted merchandise onto buyers. State representatives maintained that rigorous checks will continue across all distribution hubs, asserting that strict legal penalties will be enforced against any establishment attempting to exploit the farming community or violate official distribution mandates.
