Phagwara, August 13: A devotional congregation in Kapurthala district saw key leaders assemble to participate in spiritual festivities while outlining state administrative progress. Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann attended the ‘Ek Shaam Bhagwan Shiv Ke Naam’ event in Phagwara, joining a large turnout of local devotees.
The devotional evening featured widespread participation across communities, with leadership framing ongoing cultural programs alongside broader public governance initiatives.
AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated that by facilitating pilgrimage opportunities for senior citizens, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had demonstrated exceptional devotion to the elderly population, serving every senior citizen in the state like family. He maintained that no administration in Punjab had undertaken as much dedicated effort for Sanatan Dharma as the present government.
Addressing the audience on cultural projects, Arvind Kejriwal declared that the administration had expanded the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme to include routes to Salasar, Shri Khatu Shyam, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mathura, and Vrindavan Dham. He maintained that the government aims to facilitate visits for around one point five lakh devotees across these destinations.
Speaking on infrastructure dedicated to historical places of worship, the AAP Convenor stated that the Kali Mata Temple in Patiala is undergoing a major redevelopment at an estimated expenditure of eighty crore rupees, with construction slated to commence around October 10. He affirmed that dedicated devotional evenings are being structured across twenty-three cities in the state.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann asserted that Punjab remains a land defined by harmony, noting that divisive elements cannot succeed in altering the state’s social fabric. He maintained that residents of all backgrounds celebrate major occasions together, reflecting enduring unity.
Detailing key administrative measures, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann maintained that nineteen toll plazas have been decommissioned to provide economic relief to travelers, yielding daily savings of approximately seventy lakh rupees for the public. He affirmed that transparent recruitment drives have yielded over sixty-nine thousand government positions for youth, while ninety percent of households continue to receive free power.
Regarding social welfare programs, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann declared that ninety-seven percent of women in Punjab are benefiting from the Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana, with dedicated budget allocations supporting direct financial assistance for eligible recipients.
