NEW DELHI, August 25 — Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal will lead a second public townhall in Miramar, Goa, on Tuesday to mobilize opposition against E20-blended petrol. The meeting, scheduled for 3 PM at the Vivanta Banquet Hall, aims to provide a platform for citizens affected by the fuel blend to share their grievances.
“The last time I came to Goa, I held a press conference on E20 and spoke about how badly people are being affected by E20 petrol,” stated Arvind Kejriwal. He maintained that vehicle engines, fuel systems, and mileage are suffering widespread damage, adding that thousands of citizens have already submitted complaints through digital channels.
The AAP leader asserted that the nationwide push for ethanol blending has created secondary economic strain by diverting nearly 25 lakh tonnes of sugarcane from standard refining. He declared that this diversion drove domestic sugar prices up from Rs 45 to over Rs 70 per kg within a single month, forcing the nation to rely on sugar and maize imports that offset any intended foreign exchange savings.
