New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party top leadership strongly rejected statements by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding the death of Gulzar Singh, asserting that the state administration is engaged in a comprehensive campaign to eliminate drug networks in Punjab. AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal declared that the current government is actively working to clear the drug problem inherited from previous regimes. Addressing the allegations, Kejriwal affirmed that no minister or legislator from the ruling administration had any involvement in the tragedy.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that law enforcement agencies acted promptly by arresting the individuals identified by the family of the deceased. Chief Minister Mann maintained that public attempts to politicize personal tragedies do not find support among the people of Punjab, reiterating that administrative action against illegal drug trade remains absolute.
AAP Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia pointed out that statement records from the family, including those of the deceased’s son, confirmed there was no pressure from any cabinet member. Sisodia maintained that public statements should reflect verified facts and police records, emphasizing that law enforcement had already taken swift operational action in the case.
