Chandigarh, Sept 23: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday declared a comprehensive organizational reshuffle in preparation for upcoming state assembly elections, assigning new state in-charges across several key regions. Former Union Minister and National General Secretary Smriti Irani has been named party in-charge for Haryana, where she will be supported by co-in-charge Bhola Singh.
In neighboring states, senior leader Satish Poonia has been given charge of Punjab alongside co-in-charges Virendra Sachdeva and Alka Gurjar. Former UP minister Shrikant Sharma has been appointed as state in-charge for Himachal Pradesh, while Mahendra Pandey will oversee operations in Chandigarh.
Party leadership declared additional state appointments including Tarun Chugh for Gujarat, Biplab Deb for Madhya Pradesh, Vinay Sahasrabuddhe for Delhi, and Baijayant Panda for Maharashtra. Officials stated that these strategic assignments aim to streamline field coordination and strengthen regional leadership structures ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
