CHANDIGARH — Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema addressed a press conference in Chandigarh on Thursday, raising concerns over recent Enforcement Directorate operations that affected functioning at the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority.
Cheema asserted that the prolonged searches at administrative premises caused notable inconvenience to citizens seeking daily developmental and housing services. He maintained that using central agencies during election cycles disrupts routine governance and creates unnecessary friction in state administration. The Minister affirmed that similar investigative actions across various states have failed to yield results, adding that the people of Punjab remain committed to upholding their democratic rights and electoral choices.
Addressing broader political dynamics, Cheema declared that state governance under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will continue to focus on public welfare and constitutional values. He expressed confidence that the electorate would evaluate all political entities based on their actual performance and commitment to Punjab’s development.
