Chandigarh, 02 November 2024: Multiple fire incidents were reported across Punjab last night, with 45 firecracker-related fires recorded in Ludhiana alone during Diwali celebrations.
In Jalandhar, a major blaze broke out in a warehouse, leading to major losses, according to reports.
The warehouse fire, which erupted late in the night in Kot Kishan Chand, caused panic as locals rushed out of their homes.
Due to the narrow streets, the fire department faced challenges in reaching the site, but after prolonged efforts, they eventually brought the flames under control.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m., with five fire trucks arriving sequentially to manage the situation.
Preliminary reports suggest that a stray spark from firecrackers may have ignited the blaze. The fire was intense, reducing a large amount of warehouse stock to ashes
