Ganderbal, Sept 30: A private vehicle caught fire inside the Sonamarg Tunnel in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Wednesday, prompting an immediate response from the Fire and Emergency Services.
Officials said the vehicle, bearing registration number DL1CU-3738, suddenly caught fire while it was passing through the tunnel.
Soon after the incident was reported, Fire and Emergency Services personnel reached the spot and launched firefighting operations. The blaze was brought under control within a short time, officials said.
No injuries or loss of life were reported in the incident, officials confirmed.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, while further details are awaited.
