Case Registered Against Anandpur Sahib PG Owner Over Sexual Harassment Complaint

Final-year BCA student alleges inappropriate conduct and unwanted advances by local resident

ANANDPUR SAHIB, OCT 2 — Anandpur Sahib police have registered a First Information Report against a local paying guest house operator following a complaint filed by a final-year Bachelor of Computer Applications student alleging sexual harassment and inappropriate physical advances.

According to police sources, the complaint was recorded at the Anandpur Sahib police station on September 30 against the accused, identified as Kulwinder Singh Baba of Mohalla Mataur. The victim, who was residing at a PG facility near Sai Hospital, stated in her official statement that the accused repeatedly targeted her with objectionable gestures and remarks.

The complainant alleged that the accused made explicit unwanted proposals and tried to pressure her into a relationship while she was at the premises on September 29. She further stated that despite resisting his advances and leaving the facility, the accused continued to contact her.

Police officials affirmed that a formal case has been registered under Sections 74, 75, and 126(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation has been assigned to Assistant Sub-Inspector Neelam Rani, who is currently verifying the statements and gathering necessary evidence.
