MOHALI (SAS NAGAR) — Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann flagged off a state-wide bikers’ rally from the historic land of Chapparchiri to mark the launch of the final phase of ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister reiterated his administration’s commitment to completely eliminating the drug menace from Punjab, asserting that the fight requires collective public participation. The event saw participation from public figures, including actress Neeru Bajwa and the team of the film Thaapi, who joined the drive to raise awareness among the state’s youth.
The newly launched bike rally will cover all 23 districts of Punjab, equipped with suggestion and complaint boxes alongside dedicated vehicles to gather community feedback and report drug-smuggling networks directly to authorities. CM Bhagwant Singh Mann highlighted the government’s multi-pronged strategy, including border anti-drone deployments, village defence committees, merit-based employment, and expanded sports infrastructure aimed at channeling youth energy into positive pursuits. He appealed to young people across the state to permanently reject drugs and engage actively in sports and education to help build a vibrant ‘Rangla Punjab’.
